PITTSBURGH, PA – Courtyard by Marriott Pittsburgh Downtown announced the completion of full renovations. From the guestrooms to the lobby, the hotel now offers elegant technology that lets guests tailor their stay to taste.

Courtyard based its changes on thorough research into the trends and evolving needs of today’s travelers. With so many guests balancing business and leisure during their stay, the new guestrooms and suites offer hybrid spaces for working,
resting, and getting ready for the day. Indirect lighting and a neutral color palette help guests relax and stay focused.

Courtyard Pittsburgh Downtown management says, “We don’t take upkeep lightly here at the Courtyard. We’re proud of our hotel and its rich history tracing all the way back to 1905 at 945 Penn Avenue. We look forward to continuing to provide outstanding customer service as we debut the fully renovated hotel.”

Technology integrations may be the most notable part of the renovations, but exceptional customer service is at the heart of it all. As they arrive, guests can store bags in the Luggage Drop and set out to explore the surrounding Cultural District.

The new room design employs custom furniture and architectural elements, with local art featured in each room. This creates an organic setting where guests can feel at home. Guestrooms include lightweight desks on wheels that guests can easily move under the vaulted windows to soak up the natural light and enjoy views of downtown Pittsburgh while working.

The new lobby is an open, inviting space with free Wi-Fi and plenty of relaxing seating. As an extension to Courtyard’s inviting public spaces, the newly designed Bistro is the epicenter of the lobby, where guests can enjoy healthy meals, drinks, and Starbucks? coffee. The newly designed Bistro concept fosters social connections and collaboration with more flexible and informal seating options for guests who prefer to work outside their room during the day. Productivity is easy with the Bistro media pods offering connectivity plugs and TVs.

A big challenge when renovating is preserving history while embracing the future. The new guest recycling program at Courtyard Pittsburgh Downtown answers this challenge. Bins for paper, glass, plastic, and metal are now located for guests by the hotel side exits. Green has been Courtyard’s signature color since Marriott launched the brand 30 years ago. Acting on the need for better green practices is the brand’s way of bringing the past and future together.

The nine-story renovated hotel includes a fitness center, guest laundry service, and three flexible event spaces with expanded catering square footage. The spaces are furnished with built-in LCD projectors and drop-down AV screens. Full
connectivity packages are available.
