Ellinair is a Greek airline, a part of the Mouzenidis Group, with its home base at Macedonia International Airport in Thessaloniki. In 2015, the passenger traffic of the carrier at Pulkovo grew by 97% year on year.
Ellinair opens regular services from Saint Petersburg Pulkovo Airport to several destinations in Greece. Previously, the carrier operated charter flights only from the Russia’s second largest city.
The first new route was launched to Thessaloniki on April 29th, followed by the start of service to Heraklion on April 30th. Novelties in the Ellinair’s schedule from Pulkovo also include flights to Zakynthos and Corfu starting on May 31st and June 4th respectively. All the flights mentioned will be twice-weekly. The Thessaloniki service will be performed on Mondays and Fridays on 144-seater A319 aircraft. For the other three destinations, the carrier will fly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, using B737-300 with a 148-seat capacity.

The main operator of Pulkovo is the Northern Capital Gateway Consortium (NCG), which incorporates VTB Capital, Fraport AG and Copelouzos Group. In 2015, NCG completed the first phase of Pulkovo airport’s reconstruction and development project. It was implemented in 2010-2015, with investments amounting to 1.2 bln euros.
