With tour operators predicting strong bookings for France<.> this summer, some two hundred representatives from the key players are expected to attend France 2002, Maison de la France`s workshop for the trade that takes place every two years and which this year will be in St Helier in Jersey from 16-17 April.

Major operators to France including Cresta Holidays, Keycamp, French Life, Travelscene and Crystal Holidays will have the opportunity to discuss ways of developing the market with 120 French exhibitors representing tourist offices, hotels, transport partners and theme parks from around the country.

France 2002 culminates in a gala dinner and award ceremony, followed by a cabaret show and dancing. The award categories, voted for by a jury drawn up from members of the travel trade, include Best Tour Operator, Best Short Break Programme, Best Brochure and Best Golf Programme. The Best Tour Operator was last won by French Life at France 2000.

According to Christian Lepage, UK Director of Maison de la France, we introduced the awards in 1999 to show our support for the travel professionals who programme France. The first workshop took place more than twenty years ago, he said, and it remains one of the most important fixtures in the industry calendar for everyone with an interest in France.
