Routes Americas 2011 set to take Americas by storm

The 4th Routes Americas – the only route development event for all the Americas – is set to be the best yet. Taking place from 13th – 15th February 2011 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the event will see airlines and airports, as well as other key stakeholders, gather at the premier route development forum for North, South and Central America.

An impressive airline list is already emerging. Leading low-cost operators JetBlue Airways and Southwest Airlines will be present at Routes Americas, the only network planning forum for all the Americas that they will attend this year. JetBlue Airways is one of the fastest expanding low-cost operators from the US to the Caribbean, whilst Southwest Airlines, which is in the process of acquiring AirTran Airways, will have a renewed focus on international expansion and is set to bring a team of four delegates led by Carter Ganns, Commercial Director, Network Planning.

Two Latin American carriers who have ambitious plans for US expansion and will attend Routes Americas 2011 are Aerosur, who recently announced services to Washington Dulles, and GOL, the leading Brazillian operator whose team will be led by Mauricio Moreira, Director of Planning.

First time attendees at Routes Americas include Insel Air, the Curacao based operator which will begin a non-stop service to Charlotte, North Carolina, who will be represented by their Chief Commercial Officer, Juergen Lippinkhof.

Leading domestic carrier Frontier Airlines will also be present, discussing new domestic and international opportunities; their team will be lead by Matt Barbieri, Director of Planning.

And it’s not just airlines that have been registering in great numbers. Aruba, Buffalo Niagara Falls, Chicago O’Hare, Mexico City, Bogota, Panama City and Quito airports, to name just a few, have all registered for this year’s Routes Americas.

Registrations from airlines and airports and bookings for exhibition stands have never been so high this early before an event, and the range of organisations represented truly reflects the breadth of appeal the event has within the whole of the Americas.
