St Petersburg Marine Facade (Transit Port), Cruise Baltic (Destination of the Year), Venezia Terminal Passeggeri (Turnaround Port), Thordon Bearings (Environmental Initiative), Bluff Cove Lagoon Tour (Innovative Shorex) and Special Needs at Sea (Onboard Supplier) were all honoured as winners in the third Seatrade Insider Cruise Awards, principal sponsor Fidelio Cruise, presented at the Schmidts Tivoli Theatre, Hamburg.
Earlier in the day, during the opening State of the Cruise Industry in Europe conference session, Carnival UK CEO, David Dingle, chairman of the European Cruise Council since 2007, was named Seatrade Europe Cruise Personality of the Year, selected by Seatrade from nominations received.
On honouring David Dingle, Seatrade Chairman Chris Hayman said, "Under David’s expert stewardship the 24-member line ECC has gone from strength to strength. During his tenure David has calmly and efficiently encouraged a positive and collaborative dialogue with the European Commission at a time when environment regulations are becoming increasingly complex."
Tony Heuer, president of principle sponsor Fidelio Cruise said, "We are delighted to be associated once again with the Seatrade Insider Cruise Awards. The high level of entries in 2009 reflects the truly global nature of the cruise industry and the scope of its diversity and expertise."
