Velocity Frequent Flyer expands luxury hotel offering

From Mondrian Los Angeles to Hudson in New York, creators of the boutique hotel concept join the Velocity Frequent Flyer portfolio.

NEW YORK – Velocity Frequent Flyer, the loyalty program of Virgin Australia announced a major expansion to its luxury hotel offering with the introduction of Morgans Hotel Group.

Morgans Hotel Group is widely known as the creator of the ‘boutique’ hotel concept for its first hotel, Morgans, which opened its doors on Madison Avenue in New York City in 1984. Today, Morgans Hotel Group’s portfolio spans the globe with boutique properties that include Delano in South Beach and Marrakech, Mondrian in Los Angeles, South Beach and New York, Hudson, Morgans and Royalton in New York, Shore Club in South Beach, Clift in San Francisco, Ames in Boston, and Sanderson and St Martins Lane in London.

Beginning November 30th, Velocity Frequent Flyer members can earn 1000 Points per stay at all 13 boutique hotels in the Morgans Hotel Group portfolio. To celebrate the new partnership, Velocity Frequent Flyer is running a double points promotion, enabling members to earn 2000 Points for bookings made before 28 February 2013 for travel up until 31 March 2013.

“Our research shows that booking accommodation is one of the most popular ways to earn Points and we are very pleased our members can now be rewarded each time they stay at one of the many iconic hotels Morgans Hotel Group has to offer”, Mr Gunter said.
