THE ROLE of travel and tourism in the global economic system will take a small but potentially significant step forward this month.
At its Fourth Ministerial Conference in Doha, Qatar November 9-14, 2001, the World Trade Organization (WTO) cleared the way for the services sector, which covers travel and tourism, to be included in future World Trade Organization negotiations for market access and liberalisation.
