Limassol Marina in Cyprus

Limassol Marina has welcomed the first yachts just months after delivering the 94 luxury apartments at Nereids Residences. Setting new standards for living and sailing in the Eastern Mediterranean, the €350 million waterfront development has already transformed the face of Limassol town in what is fast becoming a string of successful completion dates despite the prevailing financial climate.

Boasting a capacity of 650 berths, for yachts up to 115m in length, Limassol Marina is the first full service marina in Cyprus, combining elegant apartments and villas with its own shopping and dining area in the heart of the city. It provides facilities and services of the highest standard, combined with a team of experienced marina professionals to ensure the smooth running of all operations. Boat arrivals and berthing are currently at 20% capacity and the development made history this summer as the first marina in Cyprus to welcome and accommodate superyachts, including the stunning 77m M/Y Anastasia. The offices at the Harbour Master, home to the Limassol Marina Reception in the heart of the project, are also up and running.

Every berth has access to fresh water, electricity, fibre optic network providing high speed broadband, high-speed wireless internet and telephone, fuel and waste removal. There are also haul out and shore-side technical facilities, a boat yard for light repairs and maintenance, combined with 24-hour security and concierge services. Limassol Marina is operated and managed by Camper & Nicholsons Marinas in partnership with Francoudi & Stephanou Marinas, combining the internationally renowned Camper & Nicholsons’ excellence in services and facilities with the best of local expertise.

Construction work continues across the entire project. More apartments at Thetis Residences were delivered in July and the first villa is now available for viewings. Completion of the Peninsula Villas, with direct access to the beach or their own private berth, is expected in 2014. The project’s unique Island Villas also feature private berths for yachts up to 60m attached to their garden with a show villa now available for viewings. Work on the commercial area (40 shops, 12 F&B outlets, a Yacht Club, fitness and spa centre, cultural centre, marine training school and parking for 750 cars) is progressing rapidly- it will be open  to the public in spring of 2014.

Almost 75% of the waterfront development has already been completed and construction costs to date have reached a total of €210 million. Limassol Marina has attributed to a much needed boost of the country’s image and economy. It is already:

  • Positioning Cyprus on the yachting map.
  • Offering a new destination for living and sailing in the Eastern Med.
  • Enticing buyers and visitors from the high end market.
  • Attracting investments in the area.
  • Changing the face of Limassol town.
  • Revitalising the cultural centre of town.
  • Improving the quality of Cyprus’ tourism.
  • Encouraging repeat visits to the island.
  • Upgrading the tourist product.
  • Creating new jobs (already 500 people employed during construction with the figure estimated to double during operation).

Contracts in excess of €105 million have already been signed for the luxury residences at Limassol Marina, reflecting the high level of interest surrounding its truly unique environment. It is the largest infrastructure project currently being brought to fruition in Cyprus and the first to attract such unprecedented interest on a global scale.
