Boeing in new pioneering routes

Dennis Muilenburg, who has been with Boeing since 1985, when he began working as an apprentice engineer, undertakes to lead the American giant to new paths.

Boeing, the largest aircraft manufacturer, currently faces great challenges, trying to squeeze down the production costs of Boeing 787, its new creation made by carbon fibers.

This happens because the company seeks newer and more innovative versions of the groundbreaking 787 in order to face the competition from Airbus.

In this difficult “hour”, the top management of the company is changing.

Jim McNerney, a Yale and Harvard graduate, following a brilliant career in commercial giants (Procter, McKinsey, General Electric, 3M), became a member of the Board of Directors of BOE in 2001.

He has tried hard. But it seems that the company wants more passion and to focus on a different “style”. So they gave the position of CEO to an engineer.

Dennis Muilenburg, who has been with Boeing since 1985, when he began working as an apprentice engineer, undertakes to lead the American giant to new paths.

Without the contacts of his predecessor, but as aeronautical engineer, with a bachelor’s from Iowa State University and a Master’s degree from of the University of Washington, has helped Boeing to reduce the production costs of commercial aircraft and defense systems in 2013.

This was achieved by turning to automation and giving emphasis to promptly confronting the commercial attack of China in the sector.

The company has orders and must deliver commercial aircraft of 500 – 600 billion $ to its customers within the coming years.

This will take place within the global fleet increase, with 23,000 new commercial aircraft that will be delivered, as we have pointed out before, to the customers of the Mega Aircraft Manufacturers, within the next 5 – 10 years.

Of course the skills of the new CEO are proven by some “writing samples” that he has given as chief operating officer, and by the increase in profit margins of the company’s defense systems unit. That was achieved by firing 15- 20% of the staff in two years.

Without sentimentalities, he “foresaw” the signs of the times and with unappeased passion, high working rhythms and tireless effort, he now strives with new input.

The company “flies” to his tunes.

He lives healthy, constantly riding his bicycle, he fights the battle of his new professional “dream”. He is worth it and he justifies the overall progress of Aviation of all kinds in its overall advancement.
