It is good the UK tourism is finally being recognised - and yes it can play a major in contributing to the economy.
The government has a major role to play - to help promote the UK both domestically and internationally. We also need a more supportive planning environment to allow us to compete with Spain / USA etc where development is encouraged. At Park Holidays UK we have had some success in working with local authorities to get planning consents - but it is hard work!! Lets see a more supportive environment - for minimal public investment the sector can play an increasingly important role. |
