Comments Just updating you on our situation. All airlines and tour operators who did business in Grenada have worked together to lift all passengers ourt of the island. There have been many charters, the LIAT and Caribbean Star aircrafts that have been used for the relief flights, only seat 37-40 persons and there were at least 900 persons to evacuate. British Airways and Virgin have put in extra flights to help sort out the situation. The Barbadian hoteliers have been very supportive, assisting the affected visitors with free dayrooms, food and drink and in some cases, free accommodation.

Our Grenadian office, had 60 visitors to evacuate. The last few left Grenada on Saturday. Some of our staff suffered physical injuries and right now Michelle Medford, one of our reservations clerks, is in the hospital here in Barbados with a nasty wound. She had to have emergency surgery at the Queen Elisabeth Hospital last night.

Operators who have been very active include Hayes&Jarvis, Cresta Holidays, lastminute.com, Travel4less, Meier's Weltreisen, Airtours International, Caribworld, Neilson and Worldwide Journeys.
