| Comments | Dear Sir,
I am writing with regard to the holiday we have just taken, booked through Fleetwood travel. We purchased the holiday advertised as having five star hotel accommodation at “Le Meridien Makida Bay Hotel”. Whilst the travel arrangements and organisation was very efficient and friendly, the accommodation fell well below expectation. I have to say that I have stayed in better three star hotels and it certainly comes nowhere near to a previous holiday that we have taken in Egypt, notably in Taba at the Marriott. My grievances are as follows: The room was shabby and in desperate need of refurbishment. The bathroom was tired with dirty grouting. There was little or no hot water - the one attempt we made at running the bath it took about 30miutes to get a couple of inches of water. The air conditioning unit was ineffective and too noisy to run at night. The swimming pool, at 18 degrees, was unbearably cold. But most disappointing of all, the food was poor and resembled that served in a school canteen. To sell holidays to the British public at this hotel as “Five Star” is gross misrepresentation and you should cease from doing so immediately. I intend actively seek “travellers sites” where I can post my comments in the hope that others will not be duped into expecting five star accommodation. The idea that more hotels are added to their group cannot be good news for the British Tourist. We have also had no reply from our travel agent or Le Meridian with regard to our complaint. Yours faithfully Lorraine Burn |
