Hotel prices in Sochi increase 121% over Olympics

According to hotel price comparison trivago.com, travelers pay on average less than $275/night on all days of the Olympics in Sochi. There is a price peak occurring on the weekend of February 14th/15th, when people will pay an average $268/night (a 144% increase).

DUSSELODORF, GERMANY – During the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi (Feb 7-23), hotel prices for a standard double room rise 121%* to an average of $243/night.

According to hotel price comparison trivago.com, travelers pay on average less than $275/night on all days of the Olympics in Sochi. There is a price peak occurring on the weekend of February 14th/15th, when people will pay an average $268/night (a 144% increase). Prices are most affordable during the opening ($223/night) and closing ceremonies ($205/night).

Travelers to London over the Summer 2012 Olympics paid an average $547/night, more than twice than what people will pay in Sochi. Compared to the average during the last week of January 2014 (January 25 – 31, 2014: $110).
