France is back in the Eurail Select Pass

Select passes including France will be available from April 1st, 2014.

UTRECHT, THE NETHERLANDS – Traveling in France with a Eurail Select Pass will be possible again from April 1st, 2014. After one year of reduced participation in the Eurail Pass scheme, SNCF, the French rail operator, now officially announced their decision to rejoin Eurail’s Select Pass.

The Eurail Pass range enables rail travel across Europe, promising a unique travel experience by granting easy and flexible connections between all major and minor cities in Europe. The most popular pass is the Eurail Global Pass, covering 24 European countries. Customers who want to discover only part of Europe are offered a multitude of pass varieties that can be tailored to literally every travel need.

Re-launched Four Country Select Pass includes France starting from April 1st.

This year, the Eurail Select Pass product range has been revamped. From April 1st, 2014, the pass will be re-launched, exclusively offering the four country option. Customers can tailor-make their own pass by selecting four out of 26 participating countries in which to travel. The selected countries need to be connected to each other.

“We are happy to welcome SNCF back to the Eurail Select Pass. France remains a top tourist destination within Europe. By fully including France again, the Eurail Portfolio is complete and presents itself as lean and strong for the upcoming high season. Travelling by rail on a EurailPass remains the most comprehensive way for our overseas customers to explore Europe”, explains Silvia Gorlach, Eurail Group’s Sales & Marketing Manager.

Three and Five Country Select Pass and Extra Day Promotion available until March 31st.

The former Three and Five Country Select Passes will still be available for purchase until March 31st, 2014, without France. Starting from April 1st, only Four Country Select Passes are sold, offering the possibility to have France included as a destination.

Also until the end of March, tourists who reside outside Europe can benefit from the current Early Bird promotion for the Global Pass which offers free travel days. This very popular campaign offers two extra travel days for 15 day Global Passes, three extra travel days for 21 day Global Passes, and five extra travel days for one month Eurail Global Passes.

Eurail Passes are available from a worldwide network of Authorized General Sales Agents.
