Park Inn Muscat retains Green Key certificate

The certificate was given by Finn Bolding Thomsen, Programme Director of the International Green Key.

Park Inn by Radisson Muscat hotel has once again been awarded the Green Key Certificate for complying with stringent international standards of the eco –label. The certificate was given by Finn Bolding Thomsen, Programme Director of the International Green Key.

Green Key certification means that an establishment has fulfilled a list of requirements. Green Key Programme rests on 5 pillars: Education of staff, clients and owners towards increased sustainable development and environmental awareness in leisure establishments; Environmental preservation by the reduction of the environmental impact of each establishment in the world scene  Economical management by the reduction of consumption meaning a reduction of costs; Marketing strategy by the promotion of the Green Key label and the establishments using the Green Key icon;  Strengthening of the tourism and leisure branch by taking responsibility broader than then their individual establishments.

Rabih Zein, General Manager, Park Inn by Radisson Muscat said, “Thanks to our preparedness and the whole-hearted participation of our entire staff, we were successful in meeting the rigorous requirements expected from us. The Hotel is and continues to be passionate about being an active participant in the growth and development of its local community.”  

Green Key is an eco-label awarded to around 2300 establishments in 44 countries worldwide and aims to raise the awareness of leisure establishment staff and clients. Positive effects of responsible tourism are a major benefit for the environment.
