Luxury for less on South Africa’s iconic Blue Train

As the rand reaches record lows, South Africa’s luxury Blue Train has never been more affordable.

There has rarely been a better time to plan a trip to South Africa thanks to the current favourable exchange rate. Not only will holidaymakers get nearly 18 rand for their British pound – but there are some sensational special offers available as South Africa moves into its low season.

The Blue Train, Africa’s leading Luxury Train and a popular “bucket list” travel experience for many discerning travellers – is not only better value than ever, thanks to the favourable exchange rate  – but it has announced a brand new package providing guests with two complimentary hotel nights to add to their overnight rail journey in June 2014.

This June, The Blue Train, which has added extra departures to its schedule, is offering guests who book to travel from Pretoria to Cape Town or vice-versa, two free nights’ accommodation at a choice of preferred hotels.

The hotel selection in Pretoria ranges from the classic Sheraton Pretoria Hotel to the stunning Castello di Monte, while the choices in Cape Town include the luxurious Taj Cape Town or The Westin Cape Town, both ideally located in the heart of the city.

The two nights must be taken consecutively pre or post The Blue Train journey and the package includes a hotel breakfast and a one way transfer to or from the train station, making this an unprecedented value for money offer for guests who have dreamt of travelling on the most lavish train on the planet.
