Emirates opens 35th dedicated Lounge at Malpensa Airport

The largest dedicated lounge at the Milan Malpensa Airport, the interior design provides a seamless transition to the elegant environment of a First Class or Business Class on-board suite – with a colour palette reflecting the neutral, earthy tones that customers have come to associate with the Emirates brand.

MILAN, ITALY – Emirates celebrated the opening of its 35th dedicated lounge for First Class and Business Class passengers as well as Platinum and Gold members of Emirates Skywards – the airline’s frequent flyer programme, at Milan Malpensa Airport.  

Following closely from the opening of the Emirates First Class and Business Class lounges in Concourse A – Dubai Airport, the world’s first dedicated A380 Concourse, the Emirates Lounge at Milan Malpensa Airport, a Euro 2.48 million investment, is the first international lounge to feature the airline’s contemporary new interior design.  

The grand opening was marked by a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Mohammed Mattar, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President Airport Services, Giulio De Metrio, SEA Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CEO, Emirates sponsored AC Milan football team players including, Massimo Ambrosini, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Stephan El Shaarawy, along with AC Milan Coach Massimiliano Allegri and AC Milan General Manager Adriano Galliani, local dignitaries, members of the media and senior Emirates staff.   

“This new Emirates Lounge reaffirms our dedication to providing our premium customers with consistently high standards. This opening aims to strengthen our commitment to the city, where we have established our presence with three daily flights in addition to our AC Milan sponsorship,” said Mohammed H. Mattar, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President – Airport Services.   

“Constantly seeking to innovate, the new lounge design is reflective of the understated luxury of our lounges in Dubai Concourse A, and it is this type of investment that sets Emirates apart. It is a matter of great pride to be adding Milan as the 35th Emirates Lounge in our global network of lounges.”  

The largest dedicated lounge at the Milan Malpensa Airport, the interior design provides a seamless transition to the elegant environment of a First Class or Business Class on-board suite – with a colour palette reflecting the neutral, earthy tones that customers have come to associate with the Emirates brand.  

Located in the third satellite area of Milan Malpensa Airport, the new Emirates Lounge offers seating for 158 customers covering an indoor area of 929 square metres. The fresh design has the same attention to detail as the other Emirates’ lounges throughout the world, where guests can enjoy an array of luxurious facilities and amenities that include LED TVs, comfortable leather armchairs, a choice of formal and relaxed seating, a quiet area, a dining area, shower facilities, business centre, water feature and bespoke artworks. The lounge also has a dedicated prayer room.

First Class and Business Class passengers can also take advantage of an exclusive private chauffeur drive service from Milan Malpensa Airport, a service that has been extended up to 100 km from the airport (it was previously 60 km) in order to guarantee maximum comfort to customers.

Emirates currently operates in Italy with 49 weekly flights, including three daily flights to Milan Malpensa, two daily flights to Rome Fiumicino and two daily flights to Venice Marco Polo.  

The Emirates Lounge:  

  • Can be availed by Emirates First Class and Business Class passengers as well as Emirates Skywards Platinum and Emirates Skywards Gold members
  • Offers guests an extensive open buffet of gourmet dishes from both Italy and around the world, as well as a complimentary full-bar service including premium wine, spirits and champagne
  • Offers services including; a fully equipped business centre with Wi-Fi connection, TV and reading areas, shower facilities and a prayer room
  • Offers seating for 158 customers with an area of 929 square meters with runway views.
  • Furnished with Italian marble floors, Gold Rolex clocks, 158 leather armchairs and mahogany furniture, in line with the worldwide Emirates quality standards.
  • With the opening of the new Lounge in Milan, Emirates now operates 35 dedicated lounges around its six-continent network including lounges in Auckland, Bangkok, Beijing, Birmingham, Brisbane, six lounges in Dubai, Colombo, Delhi, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Manchester, Munich, Melbourne, Mumbai, New York – JFK, Paris – Charles de Gaulle, Perth, San Francisco, Singapore, Sydney, Shanghai and Zurich.
