New luxury camp unveiled in the wilds of Namibia

Gane and Marshall launches Tours to new Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp.

Specialist tour operator Gane and Marshall has announced an exciting new tour to Kaokoveld, the ruggedly beautiful coastal desert region of northern Namibia. As part of the tour, travellers will spend three nights at Wilderness Safaris’ brand new Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp.

The ‘Namibia Fly-in Safari’ itinerary is a six-night journey that is perfect for families or couples looking for an introduction to life on safari. Gane and Marshall is offering discounts of up to 65 per cent on child prices at the new camp, until 10 January 2015.

The brand new tour takes travellers from the cosmopolitan city of Windhoek to Etosha National Park, one of Southern Africa’s most important Game Reserves and home to over 100 mammal species, 100 reptile species and 340 bird species for two days of game viewing. The trip culminates in a three-night stay in the Skeleton Coast National Park at the remote Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp.

The new camp comprises eight stylish en-suite tents, including one family unit, each with a shaded outdoor lounge area where guests can relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding desert.  The main area includes a lounge, bar area, dining room, library, fire pit, swimming pool and sun-deck.

The camp’s location is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife and features some of the best desert mammal viewing opportunities in the region plus access to a vast, isolated wilderness. Half-day and full-day game drives are available and visitors can spot desert-adapted elephant, gemsbok, giraffe, springbok, brown hyena, scrub hare and occasionally lion and rhino. Nature walks from the camp are also offered.

A full-day flight excursion over the Skeleton Coast is included in the itinerary and showcases the rugged coastline dotted with shipwrecks and the resident seal colony. The flight also takes travellers over immense desert dunefields, the Auses Spring and the Hoanib floodplains.
