Virgin America expands schedule from Dallas Love Field

Award-Winning Airline adds flights from Dallas Love Field to Washington D.C., San Francisco and Los Angeles. Beginning April 2015, extends twice daily San Francisco-Austin flights.

SAN FRANCISCO – Virgin America, the California-based airline that is reinventing air travel, announced that it will expand its schedule out of Dallas Love Field (DAL) to include four daily nonstop round trips to Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA), San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) by adding one new daily nonstop in each of these markets as of April 29, 2015. This expansion is in addition to the four daily nonstop round trip flights to New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) that will begin on October 28, 2014 and the three daily nonstop roundtrip flights to Washington D.C., San Francisco and Los Angeles that begin on October 13, 2014. The new flights will take Virgin America to sixteen departures per day from Love Field. The airline will be the only carrier at Love Field to offer three classes of service (including a First Class cabin and a Main Cabin Select premium economy service) as well as WiFi, in-seat power outlets, confirmed seating and touch-screen seatback entertainment to every guest. Also today, the airline announces that it will extend its popular second daily roundtrip flight between San Francisco and Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) that it started in July 2014 as part of the airline’s core schedule.

“Dallas is a major economic hub and a growing city where we have seen our upscale, premium product resonate with local guests and businesses alike since we started flying there in December 2010,” said John MacLeod, Virgin America’s Senior Vice President of Planning and Sales. “Virgin America is committed to Dallas’ continued growth and the opportunity to further expand our upcoming service at Love Field allows us to provide travelers the ability to stay connected, comfortable and productive on more flights to popular destinations across the U.S.”

Virgin America’s service is tailored to the modern business traveler, making it a perfect fit for Dallas-based and Dallas-destined travelers choosing to fly from Love Field’s central location. With mood-lit cabins, fleetwide WiFi, custom-designed leather seating, power outlets, personal touch-screen entertainment platforms, assigned seating and new, quieter aircraft with three classes of service, Virgin America has attracted a loyal following of business travelers for its “office in the sky” amenities. In addition to a Main Cabin that offers custom-designed leather seating with a deeper, more comfortable pitch, the airline’s First Class offers plush white leather seating with 55 inches of pitch, 165 degrees of recline and lumbar massagers. The carrier’s Main Cabin Select service offers 38-inches of pitch, free food and cocktails, an all-access pass to media content, dedicated overhead bins and priority check-in/boarding. The airline’s Express service offers preferred seating, priority security access and advance boarding. The Red™ in-flight entertainment platform offers guests their own seatback touch-screen TV, with more than 20 films, live TV, Google Maps, videogames, a 6,000 song library and an on-demand menu, which allows flyers to order a cocktail or snack from their seatback any time during a flight.

Virgin America’s current network of destinations includes Austin, Boston, Cancun, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth (ends Oct. 13, 2014), Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Los Cabos, Newark, New York (JFK), Orlando, Palm Springs (seasonal), Philadelphia (suspends Oct. 6, 2014), Portland, Puerto Vallarta, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington D.C.
