Real Hospitality Group expands portfolio in new year, signing three contracts

Real Hospitality Group adds three new construction projects expanding portfolio by 397 guest rooms.

OCEAN CITY, MD. – Executives at Real Hospitality Group (RHG) announced they have contracted three new hotels, expanding the company’s hotel portfolio further into the Mid-Atlantic and Queens, NY areas. These additions increase the new hotel pipeline to 10 new construction projects slated to open between July 2013 and the first quarter of 2015.

The deals include the 92 room Fairfield Inn and Suites on Chincoteague Island on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, the 130 room Hotel Indigo in Flushing, NY and the 175 room proposed aloft in Long Island City, NY. “The expansion of the portfolio in New York and the Mid-Atlantic is part of our strategic growth plan,” comments Ben Seidel, President and CEO for Real Hospitality Group.

The Fairfield Inn and Suites on Chincoteague Island in Virginia is located bay front on the Main Street of Chincoteague. The 92 guest rooms and suites offer microwaves, refrigerators, complimentary high speed internet and many with private balconies and spectacular views. Guests will enjoy complimentary hot breakfast, an Executive Board Room and easy access to area attractions including the Atlantic Ocean beaches, the Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge, Wallops Island, NASA and the Goddard Space Flight facility. The hotel is slated to open in the summer of 2013.

The Hotel Indigo in Flushing, NY will be RHG’s second hotel in that market. Flushing is home to a growing base of business. Minutes from the hotel are attractions and businesses that include Citifield, the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center, LaGuardia Airport and downtown Flushing.  The 130 room hotel will feature unique design at every turn, without compromising comfort. Plush bedding, spa-style bathrooms, hard surface flooring and the signature murals will make for a truly refreshing stay. The hotel is slated to open in the first quarter of 2015.

In Long Island City, the proposed aloft, a vision of W Hotels, will begin construction in the spring of 2013. The 175 guest rooms will offer the signature layout and design of the aloft brand. The hotel will feature the refuel grab and go for quick meals and snacks, wxyz bar, remix lobby, meeting space and sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline.  The hotel is located blocks from the Citi building and within walking distance of the subway for easy connections to Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.

“The company was based on the foundation of approaching ownership groups as partners, and our team is engaged to facilitate a solid performance in pre and post construction”, cites Seidel. “We see these additions as signals of the continued ability in our industry to grow with the increasing demand for domestic and global travel.” Each of the three projects will expand visitation in their local communities.
