Estonian Air to add flights between Tallinn and Milan next year

Estonian Air flights between Tallinn and Milan will be operated twice a week on Tuesdays and Sundays from 21 April to 1 November 2015.

Estonian Air will add flights to Milan during the summer flight period in order to meet the need of Estonian business community and private customers taking into account the feedback on most demanded new destinations. Estonian Air flights between Tallinn and Milan will be operated twice a week on Tuesdays and Sundays from 21 April to 1 November 2015.

“Opening the route between Tallinn and Milan is very much related to the World Expo 2015 taking place in Milan, which is one of the most important events in the world. For such a small country like Estonia participation on EXPO is crucial, where many Estonian companies are expected to take part. The same time Milan can offer a lot to holiday travellers, who value fashion, art and design,“ explained Indrek Randveer, the CCO of Estonian Air. “The positive results of traffic figures of the summer season 2014, have given us confidence to add a new destination into our flight network. As more customers fly with Estonian Air, the more we can improve the choice of flight destinations important for Estonians,“ added Randveer.

Milan is a major fashion and design centre and a paradise for shopping. “Milan hosts La Scala opera house, considered one of the most prestigious opera houses in the world. It is the leading cities of the Italian Renaissance also,“ described Randveer. “Milan is famous for its grand medieval castle and the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site Santa Maria delle Grazie Basilica, containing one of the world’s most famous paintings: Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper.” But for those who want to get away from the bustle of the city, can take a one day trip to picturesque lakes of Como and Garda.

Milan, the capital of Lombardy and the main industrial, commercial, and financial center of Italy, will host the World Expo 2015 from 1st May to 31 October 2015.

Estonian Air is aiming to provide Estonia with reliable and regular double daily connections to destinations of strategic importance and of substantial demand. Being a small country on the periphery of Europe, Estonia depends on such connections, and Estonian Air is committed to provide these services.

In addition to direct flights, Estonian Air is providing more than 280 destinations around the world together with partner airlines. For instance, Stockholm Arlanda, Copenhagen and Amsterdam airports act as important hubs for connecting flights around the whole world.

Estonian Air, Estonia’s national carrier, is the biggest operator at Tallinn Airport. The airline flies regular routes to Stockholm (Arlanda and Bromma), Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Oslo, Moscow, Munich, St Petersburg, Kiev, Vilnius and Trondheim. In addition, until the end September, Estonian Air flies to Nice and Split and until the end of October to Berlin. From December 2014 to March 2015, Estonian Air will add seasonal flights to Munich.
