On September 21, 2014, the most followed international bloggers and Instagramers will discover Abruzzo along the historic railway Sulmona – Pescocostanzo.
On September 21, the Abruzzo Region and the Majella National Park present the event “Abruzzo INSTARAIL – Road to Expo 2015” with the collaboration and support of Instagram Italy. The event, organized as part of the programming POR FESR 2007-2013, will bring together some of the leading Italian and European Instagramers, Bloggers and Social Influencers for a unique journey along an old railway line that runs through the heart of Abruzzo. A tour on a historic train that will stop in some charming places along the Abruzzo region, passing through the medieval Sulmona to reach the high altitude of Pescocostanzo, which the Instagramers can capture in stunning shots to spread into the world of social networks and beyond. A journey that projects Abruzzo towards Expo 2015, the anticipated international event dedicated to food, energy and sustainability.
At each station, the train will stop to allow passengers to enjoy the cultural and gastronomic traditions of this wonderful land through activities in contact with nature and with the peasant traditions: tastings of typical products that will be the protagonists of Expo 2015 as well as the wholesome dishes of the local cuisine. The Instagramers can enjoy hiking in nature against the striking backdrop of the Majella massif, browse through the valuable works in wrought iron, pottery and lace by the masters from Abruzzo, and walk the narrow streets of the ancient villages.
The journey itself therefore entails the active discovery of the territory, and it is an opportunity to meet people and share on the train and in the warm atmosphere of the Majella National Park, at the slow pace of the locomotive that allows people to enjoy the landscape without haste. In this way ancient traditions meet the world of new technologies and social networks, which are capable of delivering real-time the beauty of this land. Abruzzo INSTARAIL is an innovative and wide-ranging international event, dedicated to the enhancement of the mountain territory of Abruzzo through the involvement of the most popular and advanced tools of Web 2.0 and especially with the participation of the European leaders in the social media world.
