Autumn heatwave forecasts see October half term holiday prices slashed says Broadway Travel

Jason Waldron, Product and Marketing Director of Broadway Travel and Directline Holidays says “We are seeing a big increase in holidaymakers booking not only for the October half term but also for November, December and the early part of 2015."

Despite the current unseasonably warm weather in the UK, Broadway Travel isn’t expecting to see holiday bookings abroad decrease explains Jason Waldron, Product and Marketing Director of Broadway Travel and Directline Holidays.

“Travel agents are a canny bunch and whilst the reality is we do have to work harder to sell holidays when the weather is hot in the UK, we’ll normally come up with a way to continue to drive sales. We’re already seeing some excellent pricing coming through for October half term.”

This, coupled with the strength of the pound abroad and the great holiday deals available and the often extortionate costs of taking the well lauded ‘staycation’, mean it can be cheaper to holiday abroad than stay closer to home.

Waldron says “We are seeing a big increase in holidaymakers booking not only for the October half term but also for November, December and the early part of 2015. A staycation can seem like a good idea when the sun is shining but the majority of families won’t risk the Autumn weather for their all important half-term family break.

“We still have good availability for half-term in Lanzarote and Gran Canaria and Egypt and Fuerteventura are selling well for winter. We expect to see some very well-priced deals released at the end of September but our advice is to book now. The balmy weather is unlikely to last that long and as soon as it starts raining again, demand for holidays abroad will rocket and prices will spiral.”
