Aeroflot and Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation signed an agreement on scientific research

Aeroflot and MSTU CA are strategic partners for many years. The Parties are cooperating in the sphere of aviation staff training and scientific research.

MOSCOW – Aeroflot has signed an agreement with the Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation (MSTU CA) to conduct a scientific research.

To announce the agreement both parties have chosen the special scientific venue – “Open Innovations Forum” – the global discussion platform dedicated to emerging technologies and furthering innovation prospects and collaboration worldwide.

The agreement was signed by Vasily Avilov, Aeroflot’s Deputy General Director – Administrative Management Director, and Professor Boris Eliseev, MSTU CA Rector, within the Forum business program. The cost of this deal is not disclosed.

“The University will carry out the research in order to define the working possibility for the remote access for different categories of Aeroflot staff and develop a method for such kind of work and provide post-project support for its implementation”, said MSTU CA Rector Boris Eliseev.

Andrey Polozov-Yablonskiy, Advisor to Chief Executive Officer – Head of Innovative Development in Aeroflot, commented: “This is a true innovation in the field of management. Nowadays we are implementing the provisions of the Law, passed in 2013, which settles the principles of teleworking for employees. The aviation business is largely an information one and there is a hypothesis that 2.5-3.5 thousand employees will be able to work in the new conditions for themselves and for the company. The main goal for the University is to determine such kind of conditions, conduct analysis of the effectiveness and develop forms of control”.

Aeroflot and MSTU CA are strategic partners for many years. The Parties are cooperating in the sphere of aviation staff training and scientific research.

By the Airline’s request the University scientists have been developing the augmented reality technology which is designed to help in the training program for special transport operators. MSTU CA also developed a method which is being successfully implemented in 3D digitizing of the components and assemblies which significantly contributes to the increase of engineering and technical skills of the employees.

In the coming months Aeroflot will transfer to the University the IL-96-300 aircraft (previously phased out from the company’s fleet) for educational needs. The MSTU CA fleet has already IL-86 and TU-154 airplanes which were transferred to the University several years ago.
