Future generation of hospitality and tourism leaders to gather at Russia & CIS Hotel Investment Conference

Recognising the importance of looking to the future and the next generation of potential leaders for the hospitality and tourism sector, RHIC will be concluding with a new session titled “Developing a Career in Hospitality and Tourism”.

LONDON – The size of the hospitality and tourism sector in Russia has grown significantly over the last decade, boosted by events such as the Winter Olympics last winter and, most recently the country’s first Formula 1 Grand Prix. In addition, considerable advances are being made across the country in the enhancement of facilities and services designed to appeal to both domestic and international travellers. And yet Russia has so much more to offer.

Leaving aside the country’s rich cultural heritage, natural assets and business development opportunities, for the tourism and hospitality sector to achieve its full potential over the coming decades there will have to be a focus on attracting, training and employing some of the best young talent that the country has to offer.

Recognising the importance of looking to the future and the next generation of potential leaders for the hospitality and tourism sector, the Russia & CIS Hotel Investment Conference (RHIC), taking place this week in Moscow, will be concluding with a new session titled “Developing a Career in Hospitality and Tourism”.

Hosted by Ben Martin, Principal at AECOM, the session will include presentations from industry leaders working in a cross-section of careers within the sector, including consultancy, development, hotel operators and event management. They will share with the student delegates information on their day to day work, the steps they took which led them to their current role and provide pointers as to what they are looking for when considering new recruits to join their businesses.

Martin commented “It is vital that companies engage with students as they plan their career paths and with 250 students already signed up to attend this session on 22nd October, RHIC is providing an important forum for this to happen“.
