Hawaiian Airlines' popular summer routes between California and Kaua'i and Hawai'i Island to return

Second daily seasonal non-stop between Los Angeles and Maui also returns in 2015.

HONOLULU – In response to robust demand for travel to the Hawaiian Islands next summer, Hawaiian Airlines is bringing back its seasonal non-stop service between Oakland and Los Angeles, and Lihu’e, Kaua’i and Kona, Hawai’i Island beginning on May 20, 2015. Additionally, the airline is adding a second daily seasonal non-stop flight between Los Angeles and Maui that will start on Jun. 11, 2015.

“It is never too early to start planning for summer travel, and these non-stop flights were so popular with our travelers this summer that we wanted to bring them back so that our guests can have more options and more flexibility when visiting the Hawaiian Islands,” said Peter Ingram, Hawaiian Airlines executive vice president and chief commercial officer. “We are proud to continue to support the visitor industries of Kaua’i, Maui and Hawai’i Island, and also offer our island residents direct access to the Bay Area and Southern California.”

The seasonal Oakland and Los Angeles services between islands of Kaua’i and Hawai’i will add nearly 110,000 air seats to both travel markets over 15 to 18 weeks of service, and will be operated by Hawaiian Airlines’ wide-body, twin-aisle Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, seating 264 passengers in a two-class cabin, with 18 in First Class and 246 in the Main Cabin. Guests will get to enjoy iPad minis available for rent exclusively on the airline’s B767 aircraft, featuring more than 100 hours of the latest Hollywood releases, television shows, and a variety of exciting interactive games.

With the addition of both seasonal services, both Lihu’e Airport and Kona International Airport will have a Hawaiian Airlines wide-body aircraft arriving every day of the week next summer.

More than 53,000 air seats will be added to both Los Angeles and Maui’s travel markets over 14 weeks of service when the seasonal daily flights start on Jun. 11, 2015. The seasonal daily service addition will be operated by Hawaiian Airlines’ wide-body, twin-aisle Airbus 330-200 aircraft, which seats 294 passengers with 18 in First Class, 40 Extra Comfort and 236 in the Main Cabin. In addition, the seasonal additions also capitalizes on Hawaiian Airlines’ Maui hub, which was established in 2012, offering an alternative connecting point for travel to other islands with its expanded neighbor island flight schedule.

Adding to the enjoyment of the travel experience on Hawaiian Airlines is the carrier’s signature onboard hospitality program, Mea Ho’okipa (translation: I am host). Travelers will enjoy island-style complimentary meals and made-in-Hawai’i snacks to go along with Hawaiian Airlines’ engaging presentation of the islands’ culture, people and Aloha Spirit throughout the flight.
