World Challenge to change face of student travel with U.S. expansion

Headquartered in Great Britain, World Challenge has regional offices in London, Melbourne, Auckland, Johannesburg, and Dubai in addition to the Boston area office located in Peabody, MA.

BOSTON – World Challenge Expeditions, the global leader in student-led educational travel, announced an expansion of its U.S. operation with a significant increase in its sales and customer service team.

This substantial investment in its Boston-based office marks the company’s commitment to change the face of student travel with culturally rich, immersive experiences that combine rewarding community service and physical challenge, engaging students as never before with the planning and on-the-road management of their expedition.

“We see tremendous opportunity for growth here, where forward-thinking schools and parents value exceptional learning opportunities outside of the classroom,” said Matt Eastlake, Group Managing Director of World Challenge.

“We work in partnership with schools to prepare young people for life by safely sending students on powerful expeditions to developing countries around the world. By taking charge of their own expedition, students gain leadership skills, become more resilient, and emerge with a new perspective on the world and their place in it.”

From the beginning, a World Challenge expedition differs from a typical school trip, with students choosing the itinerary and planning the expedition. For students, it’s the adventure of a lifetime as they embark on a journey of self-discovery in one of more than 40 exciting destinations worldwide. Optional extended itineraries of three weeks or more allow student teams to camp and live in rural communities and get a real sense for the local way of life.

Headquartered in Great Britain, World Challenge has regional offices in London, Melbourne, Auckland, Johannesburg, and Dubai in addition to the Boston area office located in Peabody, MA.

The company has been operating in the United States since 2004. The Boston regional office will be supported with the addition of two program development managers, two program leaders, one customer experience manager, and two customer support coordinators.
