Virgin Hotels welcomes Virgin America Elevate members with perks and bonus points

Opening on January 15, 2015, Virgin Hotels Chicago will reward all Virgin America Elevate members with 1,000 Elevate points per stay, plus a special introduction offer of double bonus points for stays from January 15, 2015 through March 31, 2015.

NEW YORK – Virgin Hotels, the lifestyle hotel brand by Virgin Group founder and British entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson, has teamed up with sister company and award-winning U.S. airline, Virgin America, to provide even more perks to their Elevate loyalty program members.

Opening today, Virgin Hotels Chicago will reward all Virgin America Elevate members with 1,000 Elevate points per stay, plus a special introduction offer of double bonus points for stays from January 15, 2015 through March 31, 2015. In addition, Elevate Gold members will receive daily complimentary breakfast and a room upgrade, based on availability. Silver members will also receive an upgrade, based on availability.

To celebrate the partnership, Virgin Hotels surprised guests onboard two Virgin America flights to Chicago with a hosted Social Hour of complimentary cocktails and free Wi Fi, perks guests will find at all Virgin Hotels. In addition, Virgin Hotels is also eliminating fees for room service delivery, early check-in, late check-out and other hotel surcharges. Virgin America offers three daily nonstop flights from San Francisco and two daily flights from Los Angeles to Chicago with its signature mood-lit cabins, three beautifully designed classes of service and innovative fleet wide amenities – like touch-screen personal entertainment, Wi Fi and power outlets at every seat.

Virgin America was started with the goal of elevating the guest experience at 35,000 feet by providing an upscale, innovative onboard experience in the North American travel market,” said Luanne Calvert, Chief Marketing Officer at Virgin America. “With the launch of Virgin Hotels, we now have the opportunity to offer travelers that unique Virgin touch from their arrival at the airport through their hotel stay.”

Virgin America’s Elevate frequent flyer program offers no black-outs or restrictions on rewards seats with three levels of status including Elevate Gold and Elevate Silver. The airline’s network includes Austin, Boston, Cancun, Chicago, Dallas Love Field, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Los Cabos, Newark, New York (JFK and LGA), Orlando, Palm Springs (seasonal), Portland, Puerto Vallarta, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington D.C. (IAD and DCA).

Virgin Hotels Chicago will open in January of 2015, followed by Nashville in the summer of 2016 and New York in 2017. Virgin Hotels continues to explore properties in cities such as Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, Austin, Seattle, San Francisco, Washington DC, and London; locations where it is pursuing hotel and office conversions and ground-up development.
