Budapest Airport has announce further development in its continuous progression and growth with the welcome addition of Iberia and Iberia Express launching a Madrid service in 2015. Spain’s largest carrier will be operating a seasonal three – times weekly service from June, while its low-cost subsidiary, Iberia Express, will commence a complimentary service on the airport pair from July, four-times weekly.

Iberia and Iberia Express will join Wizz Air and Ryanair in offering a direct service to the Spanish capital city, making Spain the seventh largest country market served from Budapest. Offering a total of 1, 260 weekly seats, arrival in the Madrid market will give Iberia an 18% share and Iberia Express a 23% share of weekly flights on the competitive route during the summer season (according to Innovata schedule data, week commencing
7 June 2015).
