BARCELONA – eDreams, the largest online distributor of flights in the world, has just published a 3rd edition of its study “Best Airlines”, which awards Emirates, Swiss International Airlines and Lufthansa with the best overall ratings this year. The ranking was prepared using the opinions of more than 90,000 travellers from around the world.
Customers rated the airlines awarding them an overall score and have also qualified them by different factors leading to rankings by category: the cleanest/most modern, most comfortable, best in-flight entertainment, best luggage handling, best flight attendant service, best to fly with children and best VIP lounges. These were qualifications in which Emirates, the Arab airline, Norwegian (from Norway), Germany’s Lufthansa, Switzerland’s Swiss International Airlines, Austria’s Austrian Airlines and Turkish Airlines, from Turkey, consistently appeared.

“This study is one of the most important in the industry. As the largest online retailer of flights in the world, we are interested in the experience and personal views of our users, to make the process of choosing flights easier,” says Pablo Porcioles, Business Development Director of eDreams. “This study helps us understand which aspects are the most valued by customers, and which airlines are committed to excellence in service. It also reveals the existence of many important factors, regardless of price, when it comes time for clients to assess airlines and choose flights,” he adds.
In the overall classification, Emirates came out on top, scoring 4.24 points out of a possible five points. They were followed by Swiss International Airlines, Lufthansa, Aegean Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Czech Airlines, Air Berlin, Norwegian, Austrian Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines.
