IHG awarded second Project ICARUS Gold Medal

GBTA Foundation, Project ICARUS congratulates InterContinental Hotels Group on receipt of a second Sustainability Gold Medal.

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The GBTA Foundation, the education and research arm of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), and Project ICARUS are proud to announce InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) as a recipient of the prestigious Project ICARUS Sustainability Gold Medal.

Gold Medals recognize travel and meeting industry companies who are committed to making sustainability a core function within their business and are leading the way by commitment and actions to provide best in class sustainability programs for their company, travelers and customers.

“IHG was one of the first companies to receive the ICARUS Gold Medal back in 2012 and we are delighted that they are again being recognized for their continuing leadership, innovation and industry best practice within their business travel products and programs,” said Bernard Harrop, head of sustainability Project ICARUS. “Receipt of this second medal highlights the significant developments the company has made since the last award and further demonstrates the growing importance of responsible business travel in our industry.”
