SAS Event Management wins two international contracts

The company won lengthy retained contracts with the European Plastics Distributors Association (EPDA) and also with the European Association for Communication in Healthcare (EACH).

SAS Event Management, part of the Meeting Makers Group, has just won a duo of new contracts. The company, which is a leading international supplier to the events management business with offices in Salisbury and Glasgow, fought off stiff European competition to win lengthy retained contracts with the European Plastics Distributors Association (EPDA) and also with the European Association for Communication in Healthcare (EACH).

The EPDA contract was originally handled by an American organisation and requires SAS to manage the international membership database, website, and the annual conference plus direct a promotional campaign to highlight the benefits of membership. As part of the retainer SAS is also tasked with challenging the EPDA board and helping with strategy, to ensure it continues to move forward.

EPDA, which has members in 20 countries throughout Europe, is holding its annual 2015 conference in Barcelona during June and management of the event by SAS is already well under way with the launch planned for late February.

With different requirements to EPDA, EACH is an interdisciplinary non-profit organisation which brings together researchers and trainers in the field of communication in healthcare. EACH, which also encompasses teach, reach and preach, has awarded SAS a contract to bring commercial management to the research, teaching and lobbying activities that the organisation is involved in facilitating.

In addition to organising specific events and training, SAS will also deal with membership management and provide EACH with commercial direction, and from 2018 handle the annual conference.

EACH president Jonathan Silverman said: “We are delighted to have appointed SAS Event Management as our association management company. They were clearly the most impressive of the numerous companies we contacted and interviewed and their performance so far has exceeded all our expectations.”

Meeting Makers managing director Clive Thomson summarised: “We are delighted to have won these two contracts in quick succession.
