SITE joins industry leaders in support of North American Meetings Industry Day

SITE Global Education Week planned for 13-17 April 2015.

CHICAGO, IL – The Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) announces their support and involvement in the first annual North American Meetings Industry Day (NAMID). On April 16, 2015, SITE will join with Meetings Mean Business (MMB) and industry leaders, to spotlight the substantial value derived from business meetings, conferences, conventions, incentive travel, trade shows and exhibitions by connecting people and driving positive business results throughout the continent. MMB coalition members, in addition to industry leaders across Canada and Mexico, will host and drive events in communities all across their respective countries.

SITE Global Education Week, 13-17 April 2015, is designed to create awareness and celebrate the impact that the global incentive travel industry has on business and economic growth. Throughout the week, SITE will share insightful interviews with SITE leaders and education specific to the incentive travel industry. In addition, SITE chapters around the world will hold regional events to address the needs of their marketplace and showcase the rich expertise of the SITE member network.

“This is the fourth year of the SITE Global Education Week which was created to engage our chapters and members and serve as a responsible give back to the industry in our position as the only global organization dedicated to linking incentive travel to business results,” said Kevin Hinton, SITE CEO. “Today’s competitive business environment demands greater professional expertise and industry education is both a complement to work experience and an accelerant for future success. SITE is proud to dedicate this week to offer local and virtual education to our community and to support NAMID.”

David Peckinpaugh, MMB co-chair and president of Maritz Travel, said, “We are energized by the enthusiasm of organizations in cities all across the United States, Canada and Mexico who have pledged their support for NAMID. The meetings and events industry is a contributor to economic growth, a generator of jobs and a driver of positive business outcomes. MMB is thrilled to join with our partners and launch this important advocacy day for our industry.”
