Alaska to fly from Boise to Spokane – its eighth nonstop city

Alaska CEO Brad Tilden speaks to Boise Chamber of Commerce about 'great employees,' 'great customers,' and the airline's commitment to the Gem State.

SEATTLE – Alaska Airlines CEO and President Brad Tilden announced during an address at the Boise Chamber of Commerce that Alaska Airlines will begin daily nonstop service between Boise, Idaho and Spokane, Washington, starting Aug. 24, 2015.

“Boise-Spokane is a highly requested market for us and is particularly important for business passengers in the Pacific Northwest,” said John Kirby, Alaska’s vice president of capacity planning. “Our schedule has both morning and evening departures, which are designed to allow day trips in both directions.”

Alaska offers more nonstop flights to more destinations from Boise than any other airline.

Flight times based on local time zones. Note: There is a one-hour time difference. Boise is Mountain Daylight Time (MDT) and Spokane is Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).

The airline also is offering members of its Mileage Plan double miles on the new route between Aug. 24 and Sept. 24, 2015.

With the addition of Spokane, Alaska Airlines now flies to eight destinations from Boise: Lewiston, Idaho, Portland, Oregon, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Jose, California, Seattle and Spokane.

The new flight, which is just under 70 minutes, will be operated by Horizon Air for Alaska Airlines using a 76-seat Bombardier Q400 aircraft. Customers flying on flights operated by Horizon can enjoy free soft drinks and Starbucks coffee, a la cart planeside baggage service, and complimentary Northwest wine and microbrews for passengers 21 years and older.
