Korean Air and Aerolineas Argentinas' first codeshare flights link Seoul and Buenos Aires

Alongside the current Korean Air’s routes between Seoul – New York and Seoul – Sao Paulo, the codeshare flights to Buenos Aires will provide greater convenience and choice to passengers of both airlines travelling to and from Argentina.

HONG KONG – Korean Air, the flag carrier of South Korea, has announced a new codeshare agreement with Aerolineas Argentinas on the Seoul – New York – Buenos Aires and Seoul – Sao Paulo – Buenos Aires routes. The new codeshare on the route via New York will commence on 25th March 2015 and the route via Sao Paulo will take effect after April upon obtaining regulatory approval, offering greater convenience and choice to passengers.

A codeshare is an aviation business partnership through which a flight operated by one airline, is jointly marketed by one or more other airlines. The purpose of a code share is to make air travel easier, by allowing travelers to travel across the networks of multiple airlines with a single reservation, in order to reach their final destination.

Alongside the current Korean Air’s routes between Seoul – New York and Seoul – Sao Paulo, the codeshare flights to Buenos Aires will provide greater convenience and choice to passengers of both airlines travelling to and from Argentina.

Aerolineas Argentinas, a member of SkyTeam, is Argentina’s largest airline flying to 60 airports in 15 countries with 70 aircraft. The codeshare on Seoul – Buenos Aires route is Aerolineas Argentinas’ first codeshare partnership with an airline in Asia.

Korean Air currently has code share partnerships with 29 airlines on 189 routes worldwide, including Air France, AeroMexico and China Southern Airlines. Korean Air will continue to expand opportunities for codeshare partnerships to provide the most convenient schedules for its passengers.

Aerolineas Argentinas has implemented 6 codeshare agreements with different airlines, including Air France, KLM and Air Europa, and will continue to add new partnerships along the year, bringing more connectivity alternatives to its passengers and seamless travel options.
