Volaris, now arriving in New York

Volaris to connect Guadalajara and The Big Apple. Company also inaugurated new international service between the cities of Guadalajara, Jalisco and Houston, Texas.

MEXICO CITY – Volaris, the ultra low cost Mexican airline with the most extensive route network servicing Mexico and the US, announced a nonstop flight to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport from Guadalajara, starting July 15, 2015.

Volaris continues to consolidate international expansion efforts, with new service that allows Mexicans particularly Jalisco residents, to visit family and friends living in one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the United States and the headquarters of major industries and businesses, the largest regional economy in the United States and the world’s second largest urban economy.

“Just as Frank Sinatra said in his most famous song, we want our customers to live the experience of the city that never sleeps, which is why we are so excited to now offer this new nonstop flight consolidating our position as the Mexican carrier with the widest route network,” stated Enrique Beltranena, Volaris Chief Executive Officer. “There’s no better way to achieve this than with service connecting Mexico’s Perla Tapatia with The Big Apple.”

“We can’t say enough of a city with such a high tourism profile that is sure to delight our Guadalajara customer base, from its beautiful high-rises, Broadway productions, and museums, to its amazing parks, wide array of stores, and everything else the city has to offer tourists. Let’s not forget a visit to New York City isn’t complete without a tour of the Statue of Liberty, and this can all be achieved with our clean and clear fares, on board one of the youngest fleets in the Americas,” Beltranena added.

Volaris has consolidated as the carrier with the greatest international connectivity from Guadalajara, where it now operates 20 international and 18 domestic flights, and to date has transported 16 million passengers, a number on the rise as a result of significant growth achieved by the carrier out of this city in 2014.

For those interested in the new service, flight schedules, including dates and times of operation, are announced as follows:

Guadalajara-Houston, New Service for Volaris
Volaris also inaugurated new international service between the cities of Guadalajara, Jalisco and Houston, Texas with flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

Houston becomes the second destination operated by Volaris to the state of Texas, after its non-stop service to San Antonio. A third destination to the state will soon be announced, with a Dallas – Guadalajara flight. Houston, one of Texas’ ultimate cosmopolitan cities, is widely known in Mexico for its excellent restaurants, shopping for all tastes, cultural sites including beautiful plazas and over 300 parks, and outstanding medical services. Houston is also an important business destination, thanks to its rapidly diversifying energy based economy, including high technology and medical research industries.

For Volaris, bringing together friends and families on both sides of the border remains one of the most important missions. According to the Pew Research Center, Houston has a Hispanic population of over 2 million people, of which 50% are of Mexican origin. The new service will facilitate communication between Jalisco residents and their relatives and friends in Houston.

Enrique Beltranena, spoke of the significance of offering Volaris customers’ new and attractive destinations and strengthening Volaris’ presence in Texas. “We are very pleased to bring to market a second destination in Texas, and soon a third one with the Dallas announcement. We reiterate our commitment towards providing Guadalajara – Mexico’s Perla Tapatia – greater domestic and international connectivity and our leadership with 37 serviced destinations, averaging 480 weekly flights from this city. This is how we will maintain our position as the official airline of Guadalajara.”

“Passengers at Houston’s Bush Airport continue to enjoy an unprecedented level of connectivity with Latin America and new partners like Volaris are helping to make that connection even stronger,” Mario C. Diaz, Director of Aviation of the Houston Airport System said. “This new non-stop service complements the continued expansion of the international service available at IAH and will provide Volaris’ customers with even better access to our dynamic, growing city and all that it offers.”
