Tourico Holidays becomes first travel wholesaler to pre-buy activities and attractions

Tourico pre-purchases ancillary products in bulk to offer heavily discounted rates.

Tourico Holidays announced that it is pre-buying activity and attraction tickets from key suppliers – giving clients access to heavily discounted rates, no blackout dates, last-minute availability and more inventory.

Tourico Holidays has driven consistent year over year growth with its unique contracting methodology of pre-paying for room blocks at select hotels.  Now the global wholesaler has transferred the concept to ancillary products – providing travel distributors consistently more margin to their bottom line on activities and attractions.

“By pre-purchasing activities and attractions in bulk from key suppliers, in key markets, we are able to secure even greater discounts, which we can then pass on to our clients,” said Ofir Cohen, Executive Vice President of Global Activities for Tourico Holidays.  “Tourico’s not only offering discounts on ancillary products of up to 42% off of retail, we’re also ensuring our clients have access to last minute availability – even in high-demand markets.”

Tourico Holidays has one of the largest inventories of activities and attractions in the travel industry – including more than 5,400 activities and attractions in 937 cities around the world. The massive inventory is easy to navigate on the Tourico website with the option of searching by location, dates, or category – and by filtering results based on star rating. The inventory of activities is also available via their XML connection for host-to-host clients.

“Tourico Holidays’ clients know they are always going to enjoy one of the largest inventories in the travel industry, but now our buying strategy creates even larger margins for our clients,” Cohen said. “Heavily discounted rates and a massive worldwide inventory of the most sought after activity and attractions in the world help our clients differentiate themselves from the competition.”
