Mountain Adventure Camps launch new chalet for their residential summer camps

The launch of Mountain Adventure Camps new chalet in Tignes will offer children attending their residential summer camps and families who stay for their family adventure holidays a distinctly personal and fun experience.

FRANCE – Located in Tignes les Brevieres within the Tarentaise valley of the French Alps, serviced by great international travel links and close to the Italian and Swiss borders, Mountain Adventure Camps‘ new property is the perfect location for them to continue providing award wining residential summer camps and multi-family experiences in the Alps, one of the most breath-taking regions in Europe.

Following the success of summer 2014, where guest numbers increased by over 120%, this winter has seen Mountain Adventure Camps working hard to keep their summer program fresh and exciting for their high number of returning guests. Along with relocating to a bigger property so that meal times are a little bit more comfortable, Mountain Adventure Camps also wanted to be closer to the summer playground that is Tignes.

Their residential summer camps run from June to August and offer an exciting program for children aged 8 – 17. The summer camps are designed to encourage fun, friendship and freedom, through an action-packed itinerary that incorporates learning, language lessons, team sports and unique experiences into 10 unforgettable days.

Now based in the quiet picturesque village of Tignes les Brevieres, a very traditional village that is situated 10 minutes from the center of Tignes, it allows Mountain Adventure Camps to keep their activities fresh for a number of years, if not indefinitely.

Over recent years STGM (The Societe des Telepheriques de la Grande Motte), the lift management company that runs the Tignes ski area has invested millions of Euros in summer development.

Now working with STGM (Mountain Adventure Camps are an accredited accommodation provider) Mountain Adventure Camps can now incorporate additional activities into their already exciting program, such as; Water jump, Hot jumping, Blob jump, Archery, Beach football and volleyball, Basket ball, Tennis and Paddle tennis, Mini-golf, Pedal boating, Kayaking, Canoeing, Stand-Up-Paddle boarding and Dingy and Catamaran sailing!  Then for those rainy days, Swimming, Indoor tennis, Trampolining, Squash and Indoor Tennis and Volleyball.

In the summer, Tignes les Brevieres remains relatively quiet with a few locals remaining and a couple of restaurants opening, making it a safe and ideal spot for Mountain Adventure Camps to base their residential summer camps.

The property itself offers an increased dining area, a larger lounge and quirkier bedrooms – 36 beds in total and all en-suite. A perfect chalet that will comfortably sleep and fit 24 children and 6 staff.

From an educational point of view, language lessons will continue to be ‘outside’ with children visiting a local restaurant to learn about crepes, where they then have the opportunity to go into the kitchen and make their own using traditional methods, visit to an outdoor market where they put their French language skills into practice, learn about the local Dam (barrage de Tignes) and the benefits of hydro-energy and also about the history of the sunken old village of Tignes.

For those looking for a family holiday that is jam-packed with activity, adventure and exhilaration, then this is also for you.

Matt and Jade (the owners) work with the rest of the Mountain Adventure Camps team to ensure that guests receive a personal touch to all aspects of their holiday and following a full breakfast an energetic day awaits.  Guests can partake in the French language lessons, which are great for those that wish to start learning or practice phrases – the lessons are also tailored to the individual. The mornings are rounded off with some team building games or sports, such as tennis, tag rugby etc. Alternatively, adults can go on a walk through the forest whilst the children use up some energy doing the sports.

After lunch guests embark on an adventurous activity and during the week guests can expect to do things like white water rafting, mountain biking, visit a high ropes and zip line course and try stand up paddle boarding.

Of an evening, Mountain Adventure Camps provide supervision for the children, allowing parents to relax and enjoy a glass of wine after enjoying a freshly prepared 3-course dinner!

Mountain Adventure Camps family adventure packages cater for a maximum of 14 people, allowing family members to strengthen relationships with those closest to them and make remarkable memories together, whilst enjoying the stunning French Alps.
