Sheraton Hotels opens new hotel in the East Valley of Phoenix, Arizona

Sheraton Mesa at Wrigleyville West opens close to Tempe, Scottsdale, and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

MESA, ARIZ. – Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. announced the opening of the Sheraton Mesa Hotel at Wrigleyville West in Mesa, Arizona. Independently owned by Arizona hotelier Bob Yost, Sheraton Mesa offers 180 rooms, ample meeting facilities and all of the brand’s signature services and amenities. The opening is part of the Sheraton brand’s strategic $8 billion expansion effort, and further reinforces Sheraton as the most global hotel brand.

Sheraton Mesa Hotel at Wrigleyville West is located just 15 minutes from downtown Phoenix and eight miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Guests will enjoy convenient access to Scottsdale, Tempe and Downtown Phoenix, as well as complimentary airport shuttle transportation. The hotel is located adjacent to Sloan Park, the Chicago Cubs Spring Training facility, and within minutes of shopping, dining and entertainment at the popular Mesa Riverview, anchored by Bass Pro shop and Tempe Marketplace.

“We are excited to welcome travelers to our hotel, located in the heart of the East Valley,” said Kevin Thorpe, General Manager, Sheraton Mesa Hotel at Wrigleyville West. “This will be the first hotel built to be a four star resort-style property in Mesa, and a great addition to Starwood’s family in the Phoenix area.”

The hotel’s stylish and comfortable guest rooms are equipped with an oversized work desk, custom-designed ergonomic chair, high-speed Internet, LCD flat panel television, and the all-white Sheraton Sweet Sleeper bed, designed to meet AAA’s Five Diamond Award criteria. Sheraton Club guests will enjoy upgraded amenities, as well as complimentary daily breakfast, evening selection of premium beverages and hors d’oeuvres, and space for hosting a gathering with friends or colleagues in the Sheraton Club Lounge.

Sheraton Mesa features 34,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, a resort-style experience with two pools, two hot tubs and a cool dip pool, plus a pool bar and grill boasting 20 domestic and local craft beers on tap, and Sheraton’s signature wine program – Sheraton Selects. The hotel’s other dining experiences include an upscale steakhouse, casual sports bar-themed dining, and a full service Starbucks. The fully equipped fitness facility within Sheraton Mesa offers the brand’s health and fitness program, Sheraton Fitness, Programmed by EXOS, and the adjacent full service spa offers five treatment rooms for massage, facial and body treatments.

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, like all brands within Starwood’s robust portfolio, is proud to offer the Starwood Preferred Guest program, which made headlines when it launched in 1999 with a breakthrough policy of no blackout dates on Free Night Awards. SPG offers members the ability to redeem awards at more resorts, more luxury properties, more European hotels and more golf properties than any other hotel program.

Sheraton Fort Worth Hotel and Spa completes multi-million dollar transformation
Meanwhile, the Sheraton Fort Worth Hotel and Spa, one of the city's largest for guest rooms and meeting space, has completed a multi-million dollar, property-wide transformation in order to meet the needs of groups, individual business travelers and weekend leisure guests.

The Fort Worth property was transformed in every way – all-new guest rooms and suites featuring the signature Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Bed, new furnishings, bath amenities, carpet and lighting; transformed Club Level guest rooms and Club Lounge; enhanced meeting spaces, an all-new Lobby Bar and lobby-level Perks breakfast and lunch bistro.

The hotel also added two first-floor meeting spaces, a Screening Room for social gatherings and a board room for smaller meetings, while expanding its The Link@Sheraton experienced with Microsoft where guests enjoy complimentary high-speed Internet access, printing capabilities and charging stations.

The property-wide facelift also is welcome news at the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau as the organization now can tout the all-new hotel and its proximity to the Fort Worth Convention Center when it presents the city to convention planners.

"A renovated, full-service hotel near the Convention Center is a huge plus when it comes to attracting large groups," says Bob Jameson, president and CEO of the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau. "The Sheraton will now be an even greater benefit when pitching city-wide meetings."

The 429-room Sheraton Fort Worth Hotel and Spa offers seven room types, including the largest guest rooms in the city.

The property is the only Fort Worth hotel offering the Starwood Preferred Guest program where guests can earn and redeem points across nine brands at more than 1,100 hotels in 100 countries. It also is the only full-service hotel in Fort Worth managed by Interstate Hotels & Resorts which assumed management of the property in 2013.

Other features at the hotel include the Spa Beaubelle, offering a full range of treatments for guests and local residents, 24-hour fitness facility, indoor heated pool, whirlpool and sauna and a three-meal restaurant.

Located downtown at 1701 Commerce Street, the Sheraton Fort Worth Hotel and Spa is minutes from Sundance Square, TCU, Fort Worth Zoo, Fort Worth Cultural District, Bass Performance Hall, Fort Worth Stockyards and other attractions.

The Sheraton Fort Worth Hotel & Spa is operated by Interstate Hotels & Resorts, the leading U.S.-based global hotel management company.
