The Motel 6 franchise located in Anderson, Calif., has installed more than 350 photovoltaic (PV) solar panels that are expected to generate 100 percent of energy used by the property.
ANDERSON, CALIF. – G6 Hospitality, known for its iconic economy lodging brands, Motel 6 and c in the U.S. and Canada, announced another of its Motel 6 properties is now drawing power from the sun. The Motel 6 franchise located in Anderson, Calif., has installed more than 350 photovoltaic (PV) solar panels that are expected to generate 100 percent of energy used by the property.

NC Lodging Inc. opened its first Motel 6 in 2010 and has been a valued member of the G6 Hospitality family for nearly 5 years. Currently, they have 2 properties in the network including: Motel 6 Fairfield (Calif.) and the Motel 6 in Anderson (Calif.) This Motel 6 in Anderson, Calif., is a partnership with Sam Patel who has been part of the Motel 6 family for nearly 4 years. With the help of Halcyon Solar Construction, the newly installed Hanwha Q-cell 255W solar panels directly convert the sunlight to electricity without any moving parts or environmental emissions during operation.
“We are elated to have this year-long installation project completed, increasing the energy efficiency at our Anderson property,” said Sam Patel, owner and operator of the Motel 6. “We know that sustainability is important to our guests and we are proud to be able to provide them a more eco-friendly environment during their stay.”
Motel 6 is committed to sustainability through several programs including recycling, energy and water conservation, and the renovation of its entire network in order to meet higher green standards. The all-new “Phoenix” room design incorporates environmentally-friendly features such fluorescent light bulbs in all rooms, low-flow shower heads, high efficiency toilets, and high efficiency heating and air-conditioning units.
