No.1 Traveller welcomes Etihad Airways passengers at Edinburgh Airport

Etihad Airways premium cardholders can use full facilities with latest partnership.

Award-winning airport lounge specialist No.1 Traveller has launched a new partnership with leading airline and national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, Etihad Airways, to welcome eligible guests at Scotland’s busiest airport.

Following the launch of Etihad Airways’ non-stop daily flights between Edinburgh and Abu Dhabi on 8 June 2015, the airline has chosen No.1 as its preferred lounge partner. From today, all Etihad Business Class guests and Etihad Guest Platinum, Gold and Silver cardholders – will  be able to take full advantage of No.1’s facilities which include a selection of freshly prepared, complimentary hot and cold food and drink, a tended bar, bistro table service, unlimited WiFi access, a range of newspapers and magazines to take onboard. No.1 Edinburgh is easily accessible to departing passengers and is located after security, opposite gate 10.

Mark Woodcock, Commercial Director at No.1 Traveller said: “Etihad Airways continues to pioneer luxury aviation with its award winning onboard products, from the Economy Smart seat, to the Business Studio, First Class Apartments and even The Residence by Etihad. It’s because of this dedication to offering exceptional service standards that we’re delighted to be partnering at Edinburgh Airport. Our high-quality lounge facilities will ensure all Etihad’s guests can enjoy a premium experience before they fly.”

Etihad Airways UK General Manager, James Harrison added: “Etihad Airways is delighted to work with No. 1 Traveller at Edinburgh Airport as we strive to bring the best experience to our guests. With more than 110 direct destinations – and hundreds more through our partners – we can connect travellers departing from Edinburgh with many cities across the six continents of the world, for business or for leisure. We want to ensure our guests’ lounge experience matches the awarding-winning experience that we offer in the air.”

Edinburgh is Etihad Airways’ first Scottish destination, and its third departure point from the UK, in addition to Manchester and London Heathrow. Etihad Airways expects that demand for the new route will be boosted by Edinburgh’s strong links with the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia and, in particular, Australia. Significantly, Edinburgh is the second most popular British city for Australians, eight per cent of whom have Scottish ancestry.
