Viva Wyndham Resorts announces Phase II of its upgrade to Fortuna Beach

This second phase will mark the completion of the improvement and upgrade project at Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach.

MIAMI – Viva Wyndham Resorts announced the second phase of its renovation to its all-inclusive Fortuna Beach Resort located in Freeport on Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas. This next stage of the remodel will take place in the fall and focus on the property’s common areas in order to give guests a more vibrant and welcoming experience.

This second phase will mark the completion of the improvement and upgrade project at Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach. The remodel includes the international buffet restaurant Junkanoo which will feature fresh, modern decor; new, larger buffet stations with quartz countertops, and a new guest sitting area with tables and sofas. During phase I the resort opened Viva La Pizza, a reservations-only restaurant that offers pizza and Italian fare and re-imagined Viva Cafe which offers fusion cuisine.

Additional enhancements include new coral stone walkways and enriched lighting in all public areas and new plants and flowers will be added to the resort’s pristine gardens that serve as home to wildlife such as birds and reptiles that are indigenous to the island. Tennis fans will enjoy the property’s remodeled courts including newly painted surfaces and new nets. To further fortify the guest experience, Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach will also focus on some of the more general items such as maintenance to all of the buildings and sports house.

The first phase of renovations was completed in November 2014 and included upgrades to the property’s most popular guest rooms, pool area, gym, lobby and the resort’s recreational lounge and bar area. Common areas and walkways were improved with new paint, fixtures and landscaping; the disco and bar were upgraded and solar panels were installed for the resort’s hot-water system.
