Investment at Northern Rockies Regional Airport

Enhancing safety for travelers in Northern British Columbia.

FORT NELSON, BC – Bob Zimmer, Member of Parliament for Prince George-Peace River, on behalf of the Honourable Lisa Raitt, Minister of Transport, announced that the Government of Canada is investing $2,586,771 to enhance safety at the Northern Rockies Regional Airport.

Funding will pay for the rehabilitation of airfield electrical lighting and the replacement of a self-propelled snowblower and front-end loader.  This work and equipment will allow for continued safe airfield visibility and the timely and effective removal of snow from runways and taxiways, ensuring safe conditions for flight crews, passengers, employees, and aerial firefighting operations.

Funding is provided through Transport Canada’s Airports Capital Assistance Program (ACAP).
