CIMGlobal announces the opening of their office in Johannesburg, South Africa. The expansion of CIMGlobal to the African continent gives the company a presence in four regions: Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Sal Pillay, will be heading up the African division of CIMGlobal. With her over 30 years of experience in the Hospitality and Corporate Industry in South Africa the company trusts to have found the right person for the job.
Chairman Prasant Saha comments: “Africa is a rapidly growing market and interesting to be present in for us in many ways. We will surely take our current clients to Africa to expend their networks and their business but also put our stamp on the professionalism of the African market.“
Managing Director, Sal Pillay became a part of the conference industry when she joined the Durban international Convention Centre prior at its launch in 1997. As the Marketing & Sales Manager (International), she had the privilege of connecting with potential partners and collaborating with associations across many disciplines locally, regionally and internationally, to identify, submit bids and lobby for events on behalf of Durban.
In February 2012, Sal joined the Qatar MICE Development Institute (Qatar Foundation) as Project Manager: Bids & Proposals. Sal has been the focal point for managing QMDI’s bids and proposals process and growing its presence internationally.
Sal Pillay adds: “I returned to South Africa in February 2015 and welcomed the idea of joining the CIMGlobal family to launch its first South African operation in Johannesburg. My wish is to combine my knowledge in business development, developing and managing budgets, forecasts, business plans and sales with my experience in the industry to deliver a legacy to CIMGlobal’s clients and their target groups.“
To celebrate the opening of the new office and expansion into a new continent, CIMGlobal will soon organize a get-together for the local industry partners to meet the team.
