UATP forms strategic relationship with WEX to bring Virtual Credit Card Solution to the market

This relationship will allow UATP corporate account holders to pay for hotel and rental cars through the VCC solution.
WASHINGTON – UATP, the airline-owned payment network, is pleased to announce that they have formed a relationship with WEX, a leading provider of corporate payment solutions, to provide the WEX Virtual Credit Card Solution (VCC) to the entire UATP Network. Delta Air Lines will be the launch UATP Issuer utilizing the WEX VCC solution for expanded card acceptance for hotel and car rental purchases.

Collaborating with UATP was a logical move to grow our virtual global travel payment platform,” said WEX SVP, general manager of virtual payments, James Pratt. “VCCs are an increasingly popular form of payment for travelers and we expect the solution to be picked up quickly and grow rapidly with UATP.

This relationship will allow UATP corporate account holders to pay for hotel and rental cars through the VCC solution. Corporate travelers will be given a single-use virtual credit card number which can be used in any currency that WEX settles. Corporate travelers will receive one consolidated travel statement for all of their air, hotel and rental car bookings.

Working with WEX, we have created a solution that will enhance the UATP Network by allowing corporates to add hotels and rental cars to their UATP accounts,” said Ralph Kaiser, president and CEO, UATP. “As the pioneer of single-use payment technology, we know that WEX will provide top-notch service to our Network and its customers.
