TripAdvisor names Anaheim Marriott a GreenLeader for third consecutive year

Hotel in Anaheim, CA recognized for outstanding implementation of eco-friendly practices.

ANAHEIM, CALIF. – TripAdvisor has awarded Anaheim Marriott the GreenLeader Award for the hotel’s strong commitment to environmental practices and sustainability. This is the third year in a row that the Anaheim hotel has received this prestigious accolade.

TripAdvisor created the GreenLeaders Program in conjunction with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Energy Star and the U.S. Green Building Council to recognize hotels that implement environmentally conscious practices to help travelers plan greener vacations. TripAdvisor will highlight Anaheim Marriott’s achievement with a badge displayed on the hotel’s listing page, in the traveler search results and on the amenities page.

To receive the GreenLeader title, Anaheim Marriott had to meet strict requirements including the implementation of a linen and towel re-use plan, energy tracking system, recycling plan, energy-efficient light bulbs, staff training and guest education about green practices and a system for properly treating waste water.

“It’s important to us and our customers that we’re environmentally conscious, and we work hard to ensure Anaheim Marriott meets eco-friendly standards,” said John Kalinski, the hotel’s general manager. “We’re honored to see our green practices recognized by TripAdvisor for the third year in a row.”

In addition to its green policies and procedures, the hotel features spacious guest rooms as well as one-, two- and three-bedroom hospitality suites. After an action-packed day in Anaheim, guests can return to sophisticated accommodations to spread out and unwind in style or entertain and socialize with colleagues. Additional amenities include room service, mini refrigerators and flat-panel TVs with premium cable and movie channels.
