Royal Caribbean orders fifth Quantum-Class vessel

Based upon current ship orders, projected capital expenditures for full year 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 are $1.6 billion, $2.4 billion, $0.5 billion, $2.5 billion and $1.4 billion, respectively.

MIAMI – Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. announced that it has entered into an agreement with Meyer Werft in Germany to order a fifth Quantum-class ship for delivery in the Fall of 2020.

“It is such a pleasure to announce the order of another Quantum-class ship as we are welcoming Anthem of the Seas to North America,” said Richard D. Fain, Chairman and CEO, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. “These ships have been received with excitement, and performed exceptionally well, across the globe. We fully expect that momentum to continue as we add to this innovative class of ships.”

“At Royal Caribbean we are focused on continuously improving efficiency and sustainability, and the fifth Quantum class vessel will be clear evidence of this,” said Michael Bayley, President and CEO, Royal Caribbean International. “Of equal importance is our ability to consistently surpass guest expectations, and we are harnessing the power of the latest technology to do so on this ship.”

Based upon current ship orders, projected capital expenditures for full year 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 are $1.6 billion, $2.4 billion, $0.5 billion, $2.5 billion and $1.4 billion, respectively.

Capacity increases for 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 are expected to be 5.4%, 6.4%, 3.4%, 3.7% and 6.6%, respectively. These figures do not include potential ship sales or additions that we may elect to make in the future.

Royal Caribbean’s High Tech Anthem of The Seas Makes Her New York Debut

Anthem is More Than Just a Cruise

Guests can choose a breathtaking, panoramic view of the world from 300 feet above sea level in Anthem’s iconic North Star; get the blood pumping in RipCord by iFLY, the first skydiving experience at sea; or go for a whirl at SeaPlex, the largest indoor active space at sea that is complete with bumper cars, trapeze school, roller skating and more. Soak in the inspiration of an extraordinary lineup of multi-dimensional entertainment in a variety of state-of-the-art venues, including Two70, where a combination of live performers and technology come together to deliver spectacular shows and events. The Royal Theater is home to the ship’s two main shows, “We Will Rock You” and “The Gift,” while Music Hall, the hottest live music venue at sea, keeps guests rocking and dancing the night away.

Royal Caribbean sails the most hi-tech ships in the world using technology both to entertain guests and to enable them to enhance their experience. VOOM, the fastest internet at sea, makes it possible for guests to stream their favorite content, surf, connect and share their brag-worthy moments just as they would on a land based vacation or road trip. RFID technology allows them to track their luggage from curbside to stateroom, and virtual views streamed to interior cabins provide a window on the world. Thirsty? Robot bartenders in the Bionic Bar serve up mean cocktails along with their very-own saucy one-liners.

You are Not a Tourist  
Cultural voyagers who enjoy adventures for the palate will not be disappointed by the robust culinary experience on Anthem of the Seas which includes Michael’s Genuine Pub from James Beard award-winning chef Michael Schwartz as well as Jamie’s Italian by world renowned chef Jamie Oliver. Guests also will appreciate the variety and flexibility of the dining options onboard by easily customizing their onboard dining experience to best meet their varying preferences. An all-new Dynamic Dining experience gives guests a selection of 18 restaurant concepts, including five complimentary main dining restaurants (including one for Suite guests only), along with the opportunity to choose between Dynamic Dining Choice, which allows guests to decide when, where, and with whom to dine each evening, and Dynamic Dining Classic, which is designed for those who prefer a more traditional experience. In addition, Anthem of the Seas features a lineup of specialty dining restaurants, such as Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine, Izumi, Chop’s Grille and more.

This is Not the Caribbean
Anthem of the Seas will sail to The Bahamas, Jamaica, Haiti, Grand Cayman, Mexico, Honduras, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts, Barbados, Martinique, and St. Maarten offering guests the opportunity to truly immerse themselves in the destinations they visit. Itineraries vary from seven- to twelve-night sailings.
