Cutting-edge designs from Europe’s top lighting companies
This year’s Sleep story will begin at the entrance with ‘Souls’, an ethereal lighting installation created by award-winning Czech company Preciosa. German lighting legend Ingo Maurer is to make his UK debut at Sleep with the iconic JB Schmetterling and JB Butterfly, light-bulb shaped suspension luminaires embellished with delicate fluttering insects, which will also illuminate the Drink Me Bar, designed by Conran + Partners. Showcasing timeless Scandinavian design, Light Years will introduce a range of lamps that offer beautiful, yet functional illumination to the delight and benefit of the user. Spanish company LEDS-C4 is to present a range of contemporary light solutions including its striking ‘Big Ban’ and ‘Vintage’ collections, and, also from Spain, newcomer ALVE will introduce its custom service aimed at high-end bespoke projects. Italian consultancy Contardi Lighting will debut with highlights from its extensive catalogue. Sleep returning favourites will also be very present, including perennially popular UK brand Chelsom with a preview of standout pieces from its forthcoming 2016 collection; and Heathfield Lighting will reveal the latest designs from its ‘Signature’ range of decorative lights. Pioneering technology brands Gira, Busch-Jaeger and Focus SB will be exhibiting hi-tech control systems and switches to complement sophisticated lighting schemes.

Luxurious style combined with effortless functionality for hotel bathrooms & spas
Recently acclaimed as the Best Bathroom Exhibition by the Bathroom Manufacturers Association for a third consecutive year, Sleep attracts the brands who continue to revolutionise with design and technology that will define exceptional spaces and a superlative guest experience. Renowned for its luxury brassware, UK manufacturer Perrin & Rowe is delighted to debut this year in collaboration with design studio Goddard Littlefair to showcase its Deco Collection within a luxury hotel bathroom setting. Also from the UK, Victoria + Albert Baths will be getting back to nature at Sleep as they create a luxury hotel bathroom using the very best natural materials. Visitors can discover beautiful contemporary collections from many of the premium European manufacturers including: Bette, Dornbracht, Hansgrohe, Kaldewai, Laufen, Roca, Sottini, Stella, TOTO Europe and VitrA. Also displaying a variety of award-winning designs all incorporating the company’s innovative technologies will be Sleep founder sponsor GROHE, returning for a tenth consecutive year and once again hosting the invitation-only luxury VIP lounge.

Furniture that sets the scene
Each year Sleep searches far and wide to discover the new furniture brands making their mark on the scene and presents curated highlights to the industry. Turkish manufacturer Parla Design, having recently collaborated with Conran+Partners on high-end hospitality projects, will be launching new indoor and outdoor collections ahead of its London office opening. Dynamic brand Vondom will arrive from Spain with striking avant-garde outdoor collections involving international design names including Karim Rashid and Ramon Esteve. Exhibiting an altogether different look, outdoor brand Coco Wolf will debut with luxury upholstered outdoor furniture made from the latest technology to withstand all weathers. Industry pioneer Morgan Furniture is to showcase its recently launched RIO chair, combining traditional and timber craftsmanship with the latest 3D printing technology. And newcomer Sofa & Chair Company will introduce the luxurious ‘Bedrooms collection – The London Edition’ inspired by the company’s classic British heritage. Additional furniture brands presenting their hottest designs for the hospitality sector include: Dare Studio with its 2015 collections including ‘Tor’ and ‘Ella’; Vintage Fridge Company; and Byzantium by YTM.

Finest of finishes
Sleep visitors can expect to discover the newest luxurious finishes at the show that will inspire their projects, and there’s plenty to feast the eyes on in 2015. Much anticipated is archetypal British brand Timorous Beasties debuting with iconic designs on new collections including hand printed and digitally printed wallpapers and fabrics, vinyl wallcoverings, concrete tiles, laces and granites. Newcomer Mineheart will present a ‘design fairy-tale’ look book, a collection of playful and eccentric designs of wallpaper, lighting and home accessories, along with new lighting lines such as ‘Eye Doll’ and ‘Birdcage’ lamps. Stunning fabrics from Bluebellgray will also be on show featuring painterly floral motifs that complement contemporary or traditional settings. Clarke & Clarke will launch its new C&C contract brand at Sleep; Johnson Tiles will also feature new ranges including Antique, Baker Street, Concept, Loft and Soho and luxury carpet manufacturer Loloey will debut with its Libeskind collection. Best-loved brands returning in 2015 include Harlequin which is to present Palmetto, an alluring collection of prints, weaves and wallcoverings that captures elements of jazz age glamour, 1920s luxe and the botanical fervour of the 19th century orchid hunters; and global group OW Hospitality with two new collections including the ‘New Neo’ designs inspired by neo-classical forms and patterns. Floor to ceiling inspiration can literally be found with Compac, Cosentino, Egger, Forbo Flooring and IVC Group all presenting ranges of high quality laminates, tiles, timber and carpet specifically designed for the hospitality market.

‘The Sound of Sleep’
New for 2015, Sleep is excited to announce Music Concierge as its official sound partner for 2015. Working closely with the Drink Me Bar designers Conran+Partners, the bespoke music consultancy is creating an exclusively curated soundtrack for the bar. Says Creative Director and Founder Rob Wood, “Taking inspiration from Tina Norden’s  ‘Drink Me’ concept which is loosely based on ‘Alice In Wonderland’ we will be creating a dreamlike, somewhat surreal, highly atmospheric soundtrack to the bar experience that glides through unexpected styles and sounds with an occasional playful hint of nostalgia. Just like Tina’s interior design, we wanted the music design to play with perceptions of the space, its atmosphere and what people expect from the soundtrack to a bar. Expect the unexpected!”

With Sleep marking its 10th anniversary through a celebration of storytelling in hotel design, I’m very excited about the quality and variety of this year’s exhibitors and can’t wait to see the craftsmanship and innovation they’ll be showcasing, all of which bring to life the wonderful tales imagined by designers,” says Joel Butler, Director of Sleep.

Sleep is on 24th and 25th November at the Business Design Centre, London N1 0QH, with a late opening until 8pm on Tuesday 24th when visitors can enjoy the design inspiration and networking opportunities during the show’s cocktail hour from 6.30-7.30pm. Register now for your free ticket to Sleep 2015.

Sleep’s official Event Partner is the European Hotel Design Awards which will culminate in a dinner on the evening of Monday, 23rd November when the winners will be announced in a glittering ceremony at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London.
