RezBS makes e-commerce easy for tour operators

The platform has been developed to integrate with all the e-commerce products offered by Royal Bank of Canada, Scotiabank and CIBC First Caribbean, ensuring it is available to as many local tour companies as possible.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – RezBS is a complete online tour management platform developed in The Bahamas to provide tour operators everything they need to take their business to the next level, including no hassle e-commerce and online bookings.

With online bookings now accounting for over 60% of all vacation tour bookings, local tour veterans, Powerboat Adventures, realised they needed to get serious about using the internet, so Captain Nigel Bower, the owner of the company, approached local web development specialists Thyme Online Ltd. for help in finding the solution, and RezBS was born.

Bower says “RezBS is not only the perfect solution to online bookings, but also provides us with a full management system reducing administration overheads, all but eliminating ‘no-shows,’ and most importantly is steadily increasing our net profit each month. There’s no waiting for payments, so our cashflow has seen a significant boost as well.”

The platform has been developed to integrate with all the e-commerce products offered by Royal Bank of Canada, Scotiabank and CIBC First Caribbean, ensuring it is available to as many local tour companies as possible. The integration also means tour companies don’t need to rebuild their websites to meet the stringent security requirements of the credit card companies and banks, as security is handled by the platform itself. To begin offering online bookings, tour companies need only have an e-commerce account with their bank and then add two lines of code to their existing website – no costly website development is needed.

Ben Jamieson, the head of Thyme Online, said “When researching the needs of Powerboat Adventures, we realised there was scope to build something that could benefit all tour operators in the country, and throughout the Caribbean. We saw similar platforms existed overseas, but those that integrated with local banks charged hefty commissions on every transaction, so we decided to create a dedicated solution from the ground up.”

Thyme Online worked with local tour operators, banks and payment processors to ensure the platform met with the strict requirements of PCI DSS, as well as the needs of the industry. The result is an e-commerce enabled booking system with no contracts, no commissions and a low flat monthly fee.

Thyme Online Ltd is a Bahamian firm founded in 1998. The company quickly became one of the leading web development firms in the region. The company specialises in e-commerce solutions and custom web application development.
