ATPI Griffinstone Greece expands travel team and appoints new leadership role

ATPI Griffinstone is the specialist shipping and energy division of the global travel management and events business, the ATPI Group.

Following the unveiling of the ATPI Group’s new brand dedicated to the shipping, offshore and energy sectors, ATPI Griffinstone has combined and grown the Greece team with 70 experts now operating from one office location on Syngrou Avenue in central Athens.

Shipping industry and corporate travel veteran Nikos Gazelidis’ role has also been expanded to become managing director of the ATPI Corporate Travel and ATPI Griffinstone business in Greece and Cyprus. The new regional remit is in addition to Nikos’ recent appointment to the newly created head of shipping sales for the overall ATPI Group.

Gazelidis has been part of the ATPI Group’s business, based in Athens, for over nine years. Following the ATPI Group’s acquisition of Griffin Travel in 2014, the specialist shipping division of the business has expanded worldwide. The operations in Greece and Cyprus that manage the complex travel requirements of the shipping sector are now almost double what they were two years ago.

Graham Ramsey, chief executive, the ATPI Group, explains: “Providing a highly knowledgeable travel management consultancy service for the shipping industry has been a key achievement for all parties that now make up the ATPI Griffinstone brand of our business and we are thrilled to have our combined ATPI Greece team now operating under one roof. Nikos has been key to our growth and brings incredible technical expertise to our clients. Adding the country management element to Nikos’ head of shipping sales role in his native Greece, one of the hubs of the global shipping sector, recognises these achievements.”

ATPI Griffinstone is the specialist shipping and energy division of the global travel management and events business, the ATPI Group. Nikos Gazelidis’ expanded role follows the retirement of the former Greece and Cyprus ATPI Group managing director, Giorgos Theodorou, who remains with the Group in an advisory capacity.

The ATPI Group has over 100 offices worldwide and has successful operations in corporate travel, shipping and energy travel, corporate event management and online travel technology.
